Hey there, I'm Gord

I trained in Massage Therapy, and believe strongly in helping others achieve their best self and improve their day-to-day quality of life.

I am passionate about my massage practice, and strive to ensure each client is comfortable and meets their goals.

I graduated with Honours from the Massage Therapy program at Georgian College, where I spent 3 years developing extensive knowledge of anatomy and physiology, injury assessment and treatment plans, remedial and rehabilitative exercise, and specialized massage forms such as pregnancy, abdominal, and lymphatic.

If you are looking for massage therapy, but you are on a budget or do not have extended health insurance, then an unlicensed massage treatment may be a great option for you.

As an unlicensed massage practitioner, I am trained on par with licensed massage therapists and have completed the 3 year massage therapy program, so your massage experience won’t have to suffer. I am completely upfront and honest about the fact that I am unlicensed – so it is purely your choice, as the client, whether you feel comfortable with the services I offer.

Some of my clients ask why a person who has gone through the training program would not be licensed. There are a few reasons: 1) some may be just finishing up necessary requirements and want to get started a little early or 2) some might practice massage as more of a side-job and, therefore, feel it is disadvantageous to undergo the extensive and exorbitant procedures and costs to get licensed. 3) A common reason is due to the fact that to apply for a license, you can never have performed a massage for money, which could include anyone who has ever been paid by a family member or friend to do so. Getting paid in cash can have its tax benefits as well, but the win-win really comes in that you save money and the unlicensed practitioner gets money he or she might not have otherwise. As I am not registered with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario, therefore I am able to provide similar treatments of those registered with the college, at a lower rate!

*Massage treatments can not be claimed on insurance.

It is important to note there is a difference between a license and a certificate – one can still be certified and not licensed. In some areas, if you complete at least 500 classroom hours and have received a diploma or certificate, you can apply for a license. Through my massage therapy certification program, I completed 2200 hours of combined classroom and clinic study and practice. That is just a comparison for anyone who might be slightly “on the fence” regarding the qualifications of a practitioner who is certified but not licensed.

My focus is relaxation, sports injuries and deep tissue treatments, depending on client goals and desired treatment outcomes.

I believe that occasional massage treatments are needed in maintaining both physical and mental wellness. I work directly with each client to ensure they feel comfortable and enjoy the treatment with expected outcomes, reducing stress, pain, and imbalances while increasing mobility, ease of movement, and joint stability.

I confer regularly with my wife Carina, who has a passion for promoting a healthy and balanced lifestyle to provide a better quality of life for those within our care.
